Marcus Lövgren

Marcus is an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Biomedicine at Umeå University, with a strong interest in cellular biology and genetics. In the spring of 2025, he joined our lab to conduct his BSc thesis project.

His research focuses on genetically engineering the mitochondrial translation machinery to develop strains for genome-wide screening approaches. He employs advanced cloning and transformation techniques and utilizes flow cytometry to assess the impact of these genetic modifications.
