KBC-Days 2023

A Fantastic Event Comes to a Close: The KBC-Days 2023!

The annual interdisciplinary event at Umeå University, known as the KBC-Days, has successfully concluded. This event brings together researchers from across the KBC environment to share their scientific discoveries. Over two exhilarating days, we had the privilege of listening to numerous engaging talks and learning about fascinating research.

It was an absolute pleasure to represent the Kohler Mito Lab at this event. During my presentation, I had the opportunity to share our strategic plans and our approach to uncovering novel aspects of mitochondrial proteostasis and the quality control of mitochondrially-encoded proteins.

Admittedly, the highlight for me was the chance to network with our new colleagues at KBC. It was particularly delightful to meet several young Principal Investigators and Assistant Professors who, like me, have recently started their groups here in Umeå. These are wonderful individuals with whom I enjoyed exchanging experiences and ideas.

As we wrap up this year’s event, I am already eagerly anticipating next year’s KBC-Days. Here’s to more scientific discoveries, collaborations, and memorable experiences! See you all next year!
