Getting started in the lab

Progress continues on writing research grants, but even in the midst of this important work, taking breaks is essential. While my usual respite involves hiking, capturing nature’s beauty through photography, or spending a night under the stars unveiling the universe’s gorgeous mysteries, breaks look a bit different when you’re in the process of starting a lab.

Currently, I’m equipping the lab with essential instruments. I’m incredibly grateful to my former PostDoc supervisor, Martin Ott, who generously gifted me some machines no longer in use in his lab. This fantastic starting point makes our space finally start to resemble a real lab!

I’m also looking forward to the upcoming KBC-Days, an interdisciplinary meeting at Umeå University. It will be a great opportunity to introduce our lab, share our scientific plans, and network with our new colleagues!
